Competence By Design (CBD) launching July 1, 2019

The Obstetrics and Gynaecology residency programs in Canada, including UBC, will be implementing the Royal College Competence By Design (CBD) competency-based education mandate for the residents who are starting in the program on July 1, 2019.

The principle of CBD is shifting from a time-based to outcome-based education with multiple, low stake assessments.

This is a resident-driven process where the residents will prospectively be asking you to provide them with feedback on a specific Entrustable Professional Activity (EPA) at the end of their clinic/call/OR using a Smartphone-based evaluation system called Entrada.

This feedback to the residents is in addition to the end of rotation ITERS on one45 that will remain.

Please ensure you set up your PIN in Entrada one-time in order to facilitate the completion of the daily evaluation.  Instructions to setup your PIN, including an overview of CBD, can be found here.
