Congratulations to Dr. Sarah Finlayson for being awarded the 2021/22 Killam Teaching Prize

Dr. Finlayson exemplifies the passionate, enthusiastic educator we all remember as our favorite teacher.  She is described by her students, residents and Fellows as being patient, inspiring and a role model.  She has received local, national and international awards including the Mike Turko Award for Surgical Teaching, the CREOG award, the Carl Nimrod Educator Award and the Bobby Miller Award for Excellence in Teaching.  She has been the lead voice/educator in the tremendously successful opportunistic salpingectomy campaign for ovarian cancer prevention.  She has inspired all of her colleagues to be life-long learners — and to strive to be better teachers.

About the Killam Teaching Prize
