Upon completion of training, the resident will have the knowledge, clinical and surgical skills required for independent practice in Gynecologic Oncology in Canada. As well as providing expert clinical care, the gynecologic oncologist will be prepared to contribute to administrative, educational, and research activities in the field of gynecologic oncology.
The specific requirements are detailed in the Objectives of Training (OTR) and Entrustable Professional Activities for Gynecologic Oncology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The Training Experiences for each stage are also provided. These are in accordance with the CanMEDS Physician Competency Framework for the seven roles that all trainees are expected to acquire: Medical Expert, Communicator, Collaborator, Manager, Health Advocate, Scholar, and Professional.
