 This program will be offering up to two positions for July 2026 start. There will be a common date for offers from all Canadian Gynecologic Oncology training programs in early October, which will coincide with the U.S. match. This date will be posted once it is determined.

Application Procedure

The following documents are required:

1. Personal statement: Maximum one typed page indicating your interest in this subspecialty, goals and objectives, including career plans.
2. Curriculum Vitae
3. High quality scan of: medical degree, specialist certificate*
   *For applicants in their final year of training, please submit a letter from your Program Director that confirms your enrollment in the training program, and expected date of certification.
4. Three (3) letters of reference: Must include a letter from the current residency program director. Please instruct your referees to submit letters of reference directly to the Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Program.

Canadian Applicants

Canadian applicants must have completed their Obstetrics and Gynecology training through a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) accredited program and be eligible to sit the RCPSC examinations in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

International Applicants

Please Note:  We are not currently accepting applications from international residents. An update will be posted in October 2025 as to if we will accept international applications then. 

Canadian applications are considered first for Royal College-accredited Fellowship positions. International residents’ applications will be considered in years when a Canadian Fellow has not been selected.

International applicants, please note that the following qualifications must be met for consideration:

1. a. Enrolment in a ACGME-accredited United States residency program in Obstetrics & Gynecology, with intent and eligibility to complete certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
   OR
   b. International medical graduates must have their training approved by the RCPSC and be eligible to sit the RCPSC examinations in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with confirmation from the RCPSC to that effect.
2. Meet the required scores set by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia for English Proficiency.
3. International applicants can be accepted only when they are endorsed by a sponsoring agency that has entered into a postgraduate training agreement with UBC. Charitable foundations, private corporations or self-funding are not considered acceptable sources of funding.

Please visit the RCPSC webpage to find out if your training/degree meets Canadian/RCPSC certification. Individuals who do not meet the RCPSC certification standards will not be considered.
