Canadian Applications
Applicants must submit the following:
- Curriculum vitae
- Written personal statement
- At least three (3) letters of reference, with at least one from the current residency program director. Please instruct your referees to submit letters of reference directly to GREI Fellowship.
Selection criteria will be based upon:
- Confirmation of eligibility requirements
- Overall performance during obstetrics and gynaecology residency training, based on letters of recommendation from current residency program director, department chair/chief, and other faculty members who are qualified to comment on the applicant’s clinical performance
- Curriculum vitae
- Prior research and publication experience, including oral presentations
- Awards and honors
- Written personal statement
International Residents
International Residents please note that one of the following qualifications must be met for consideration:
- a. Enrolment in a Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited United States residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology and planning to complete certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
OR
b. International Medical Graduates must have received their training through RCPSC Jurisdiction Approved Training and must be eligible for RCPSC certification in obstetrics and gynecology and have received confirmation from the RCPSC that their training is substantially equivalent to Canadian training. - Meet the required scores set by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia for English Proficiency.
Please check the RCPSC webpage to find out if your training/degree meets Canadian/RCPSC certification. Individuals who do not meet the RCPSC certification standards will not be considered.
Please note: Canadian applications are considered first for Royal College-accredited Fellowship positions. International residents’ applications will be considered in years when a Canadian Fellow has not been selected.

This program offers 1 position every 2 years and the 2024-2026 fellowship has already been filled.
The applications for the next program 2027-2029 will be accepted in 2026.
