Biography
Dr. Fariba Mohtashami is a Clinical Professor and Co-Head of the Division of General Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. She also serves as Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Paul’s Hospital, where she practices as a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon.
A dedicated mentor and surgical coach, Dr. Mohtashami is committed to elevating GYN surgery, with a particular focus on the surgical anatomy of the pelvis. She is a recognized leader in academic medicine and a strong advocate for gender equity in medicine and surgery. Her work centers on addressing systemic disparities in healthcare, with a focus on closing the gender pay gap, data gap, and pain gap through education, awareness, and policy change.
