The Gynecologic Tissue Bank (GTB) is a CTRNet-certified biorepository that is a collaborative initiative between the Gynecologic Cancer Initiative, the department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, the Women’s Health Research Institute and the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute. The GTB has been collecting, storing, and distributing gynecologic tumour specimens to support innovative research since 2007 and has recently been expanded to contain benign gynecologic tissue including ovaries, fallopian tubes, uteruses, endometrial biopsies and other benign gynecologic tissue. By providing scientists access to a diverse collection of gynecologic specimens and associated clinical data, the GTB enables cutting-edge studies in the biology, detection, and treatment of gynecologic conditions, with a focus on translational research that advances patient care.
