The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Subspecialty Residency Program welcomes Dr. Sophie Palmer!
Sophie completed her OBGYN residency at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, and prior to that, medical school at Queen’s University in Kingston ON. She also completed her undergraduate degree at Queen’s in English Language and Literature. She is interested in a variety of topics within MFM and obstetrics, including the investigation of stillbirth/IUFD, and the ethics of clinical research, autonomy and consent during pregnancy and labour. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time outside with her 11-year-old dog Pablo, (attempting to) learn new things like knitting sweaters, and learning more about how the world works through podcasts, books, and conversations. She is excited to explore the food, book stores, parks, and more in Vancouver.
