Academic Skills

Below are some resources that can assist with supporting academic skills:

The National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD) is an independent professional development, training, and mentoring community for faculty members, postdocs, and graduate students. Their goal is to support academics in making successful transitions throughout their careers. NCFDD offers a variety of courses that can assist staff with the development of their academics skills, including courses around strategic planning, academic publishing, and writing & research productivity. UBC now has an international membership with NCFDD, therefore their services are complimentary with your UBC CWL login/password. To sign up, click here.
Lynda.com offers an online collection of self-guided instructional videos designed to provide staff with resources that discuss a variety of areas, including addressing academic courses around project management, data analysis, and constructing presentations.
