Biography
Dr. Dehaeck (MD, FRCPC) is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of British Columbia. She completed her medical degree and a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Calgary, followed by residency training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at UBC.
Dr. Dehaeck is the Director of the Vulvar Disease Clinic at the BC Centre for Vulvar Health, where she focuses on chronic, benign, and pre-malignant conditions of the lower genital tract. Dr. Dehaeck is the program director for the clinical fellowship in Vulvar Health and Sexual Medicine. She is also the residency rotation director for the UBC Vulvar Health rotation. In addition to her subspecialty work, Dr. Dehaeck maintains a general Obstetrics and Gynaecology practice in Vancouver. She is a Fellow of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease and a certified provider through the Menopause Society.
A dedicated medical educator, Dr. Dehaeck is deeply committed to residency training and advancing knowledge in vulvar health through mentorship and clinical teaching.
Areas of Interest in Teaching/Research
Dr. Dehaeck has a strong interest in medical education and is passionate about training the next generation of physicians. She is particularly committed to advancing education in vulvar health—a field that is often underrepresented in medical training. Through her leadership in fellowship and residency programs, she works to improve clinical competence and confidence in diagnosing and managing complex vulvar conditions.
Dr. Dehaeck’s research interests include vulvar disease, chronic, benign and pre-malignant lower genital tract conditions, knowledge translation, and improving patient and resident education. She is particularly interested in bridging the gap between clinical evidence and everyday practice through meaningful education and collaborative care.
