Biography
Dr. Fitzsimmons obtained his degree in Physiology at McGill and obtained his MD at University of Calgary. He then did his residency at UBC in Vancouver. He practices in Vancouver and is a clinical professor at UBC. He provides office based clinical care and operates at BC Women’s hospital.
His clinical focus is on general gynecology, minimally invasive surgery, menopase and family planning.
He has worked internationally with Health for Humanity (H4H.ca) as one of the founding members in Antigua, Guatemala.
Areas of Interest in Teaching/Research
Dr. Fitzsimmons started the family planning residency rotation at UBC as well as the Family Planning Clinical Fellowship. He is currenlty the director of this fellowship. He teaches nurses, midwifery students, residents and fellows.
