Biography
Dr. Chris Ng is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the University of British Columbia (UBC), where he has been a faculty member since 2014. He currently serves as the Associate Program Director and Reproductive Systems Lead for UBC’s Undergraduate Medical Education program, combining his clinical expertise with a strong commitment to medical education.
Dr. Ng earned his BSc in Honours Biochemistry from UBC, followed by his MD from the University of Toronto. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at UBC. His clinical practice is based at Langley Memorial Hospital, where he serves as a generalist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.
A passionate educator, Dr. Ng has received multiple teaching awards, including the Robert Liston Teaching Award, the UBC Southern Medical Program Graduating Class Award, and postgraduate teaching awards from both Family Practice and Emergency Medicine programs. He has contributed significantly to curriculum development and regularly supervises and mentors undergraduate and postgraduate medical learners.
Dr. Ng has a particular focus on interdisciplinary care and has received multiple grants to lead workshops and simulations. He enjoys supervising midwifery students and has provided a surgical skills workshop for midwives in Fraser Health. He was awarded the inaugural Advocacy Champion award at Langley Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Ng’s professional career is distinguished by his dedication to medical education, evidence based practice, and compassionate clinical care.
