Recruitment and hiring processes

UBC has developed content for assisting hiring managers to understand the recruitment and hiring process at UBC. Please see the UBC recruitment guide here for a step-by-step guide for managers on the hiring process from identifying the need for a new hire through selection and making a job offer. Please contact your department HR manager for further questions.

There are knowledge-based job aids to help walk you through many HR tasks in Workday; this link will direct you to resources on how to use Workday (requires your CWL and password).

Engaging volunteers

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology Volunteer Program is limited to UBC student volunteers.  These can be part of a formal UBC program such as Go Global or Flex or they can be UBC students who wish to obtain experience in a lab/clinical setting.

Potential volunteers who contact you directly who are not part of UBC, should be informed that they do not qualify to participate in our volunteer program.  The only exception to the limitation to UBC students is when the faculty member holds status in another educational institution and receives requests from students at that institution. If you are unsure if your volunteer is acceptable please contact the Administrative Director or HR Manager.

Please see the OBGYN Volunteer Program Guidelines for information and the complete the following required forms and forward these forms to the HR Manager:
Volunteer Application
Assignment Outline
Volunteer checklist

An email confirming volunteer status and outlining the policy and complaint procedures will be emailed to the volunteer and copied to the supervisor and Site Research Manager following receipt of documentation.
