Please welcome Larisse Melo to the Department. Larisse is joining us as the Interim Research Manager at BCWH, and will be dividing her time between on-site and remote work.
Larisse completed a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from the Federal University of RN – Brazil, and a Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition from UBC. She also received a certificate in International Project Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology. In Brazil, Larisse worked for four years in research studies assessing the nutritional status of low- and high-risk postpartum women and their neonates. At UBC, Larisse coordinated several research activities in the UBC Human Nutrition and Vitamin Metabolism Research Group, including the management of ethics applications, cross-institutional invoices and study logistics, as well as training volunteers and RAs and providing analytical support to different projects. Larisse has a passion for women’s health research, and is looking forward to supporting the operations of the OBGYN Research Program at BCWH.
