We congratulate Dr Jeffrey Roberts as the newly elected President of the Canadian Fertility & Andrology Society (CFAS) for 2016 – 2017 term.  Dr Roberts is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in UBC Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Dr. Roberts is an active member of the reproductive medicine community in Canada and has served on the CFAS Board of Directors as the National Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Director since 2008.  He is also an active member of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Technical Subcommittee on Reproductive Tissues and a trustee on the Burnaby Hospital Foundation.

Dr. Roberts’ focus is on fertility preservation for young women with cancer, uterine surgery and in vitro fertilization (IVF).  Through his work as the Director of the PCRM Fertility Preservation Foundation, Past Chair of the CFAS Fertility Preservation Special Interest Group, and member of the Board of Directors for the non-profit organization Fertile Future, he has contributed widely to fertility preservation and other aspects of fertility via lecturing, research, publications and philanthropy.  Of note, he authored the first Canadian Clinical Practice Guideline for Fertility Preservation in 2014.

Dr. Roberts has B.Sc. (hon) and M.D. degrees from the University of British Columbia. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at McGill University, then a three-year fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Center for Reproductive Medicine and Infertility at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. Upon completing his training, Dr. Roberts was appointed Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he served as a Reproductive Endocrinologist and Director of the Donor Egg Program at Women and Infants Hospital of Rhode Island.
