Inaugural Division of Gynaecologic Oncology Research Grants Recipients Announced

The Division of Gynaecologic Oncology is pleased to announce the recipients of the inaugural Research Awards.  This funding is to support research on gynecologic cancers.

These grants are for up to $20,000, are one time only (i.e. non-renewable), and are designed to provide critical review, with rapid turn-around and constructive feedback, and funding for projects that would not be eligible to receive funding at the national level.

Ji-Hyun Jang and Janice Kwon: Does the fallopian tube influence the metastatic potential of uterine serous carcinoma.

Marette Lee, Lori Brotto and Sarah Mah: The Safe study – Satisfaction and adherence to follow up with colposcopy exams.

Marette Lee, Lily Proctor, Leslie Sadownik and Troy Grennan: Prevalence of abnormal anal cytology in women with recurrent vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia.

Janice Kwon, Gillian Hanley, Sophie Sun, Intan Schrader: Should BRCA mutation testing be available to all first-degree relatives of ovarian cancer patients?

We were delighted with the high caliber of proposals put forward.  The recipients are a mix of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology faculty and residents as well as co investigators from the Departments of Medicine, Medical Oncology and Medical Genetics.
