The University of British Columbia and Vancouver General Hospital are offering a one- or two-year gynecologic oncology research fellowship. The training program is designed to cultivate outstanding academic Gynecologic Oncologists – both clinician investigators and physician-scientists.
Our program provides opportunities in a diverse range of research training disciplines including, but not limited to, cancer biology, molecular therapeutics, data science, AI/machine learning, clinical trial design/implementation, translational sciences, survivorship, epidemiology, health disparities, and health services research.
The training program offers a rich research environment and mentorship by highly regarded researchers and experienced clinical investigators of British Columbia’s Gynecologic Cancer Initiative, a province-wide interdisciplinary research program affiliated with synergistic partner institutions including University of British Columbia, Vancouver General Hospital, BC Cancer, and BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre.
The fellow will conduct their research within the multidisciplinary Provincial Gynecologic Tumour Group with a team of dedicated gynecologic cancer specialists in medical oncology, surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, counselling, hereditary cancer testing, nursing and research.
Eligible applicants must hold an MD and have completed, or currently training in, or accepted into or applying to a gynecologic oncology training program in Canada or equivalent system.
Each applicant is reviewed by an Admissions Committee. Top applicants, chosen on the basis of their credentials and letters of recommendation, are invited for a formal interview.
Applicants will give a presentation and have the opportunity to learn more about the facilities and to meet current fellows. The final selection is made by the Admissions Committee in consultation with all staff members. The selection process is administered through the University of British Columbia Division of Gynecologic Oncology. The salary and fringe benefits are competitive.
