Biography

Dr. Cheung is Clinical Professor, UBC Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (the Department). Dr. Cheung is an Associate Clinician-Scientist at Child and Family Research Institute (CFRI) of BC.

Dr. Cheung received his MD from the University of Sydney, Australia. After completing subspecialty training in Menopause at the Centre for the Management of Menopause in Sydney, Australia and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) at the University of California, Davis, CA, he became a Faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Alberta, 1992-1996. In 1996, Dr Cheung joined UBC.

Dr.Cheung has published many peer-reviewed scientific papers and conference proceedings and is a frequent, invited reviewer for scientific journals and research granting agencies.

Dr Cheung is an active member of the Graduate Program in Reproductive and Developmental Sciences of the Department. He teaches and mentors students at all levels – undergraduate, postgraduate, and post-doctoral and trains specialty physician residents and fellows in GREI. He sits on many PhD supervisory committees, and is a frequent UBC examiner for PhD candidature examination and thesis defence. He is a popular course organizer and speaker in continuing medical education (CME) events for practicing physicians for the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC).
