Chantal Mayer received her Medical degree from McGill University in 1999. She moved to Vancouver to complete the residency program in 2004. She practiced as a general OBGYN for a year before moving to Ottawa to complete an Obstetrical and Gynecological Ultrasound fellowship at the Ottawa University. Upon her return, she completed a Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of British Columbia in 2008. Dr. Mayer has been working as part of the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at BC Women’s Hospital since, dividing her time between BCW hospital and the Jim Pattison Outpatient and Surgery Centre in Surrey.
Although she enjoys all aspects of the subspecialty, Chantal’s specific areas of expertise and research include fetal physiology, placental insufficiency, fetal echocardiography and as well as obstetrical ultrasound in general. While considering herself primarily a clinician, Chantal enjoys the process and the opportunity that research brings to address everyday clinical questions.
