Staff Development

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology has been committed to working on wellness and development for some time now and a Staff Organisational Committee was formed earlier this year.

The purpose of this committee is to recommend to the Department Head optimal approaches to organizational development and effectiveness, including career development, leadership development, wellness, mentorship, recognition, succession planning, diversity and inclusion, and governance in support of all OBGYN staff.  The Terms of Reference for this committee can be found here.

The first order of business for the committee was to pull together resources for a website for staff to utilise for their wellness and development needs.  This is a work in progress.  If you know of other useful resources please email Andi Martin.

Later in the year we plan to roll out a series of courses for all staff to attend.  We plan to run these twice – once at VGH and once at BCWH so that all staff will have the opportunity to attend one of the sessions.  Some will be over lunch breaks and some will be half day sessions.  We hope to run the first one in September with a CliftonStrengths Discovery: Your Unique Strengths and Strategies for Your Success.
