Family Planning

The University of British Columbia (UBC) Advanced Training in Family Planning in Vancouver, British Columbia (BC) Canada, is the newest program in Family Planning, welcoming our first fellow in 2016!  This is also the only program in Canada.  This is not a Royal College accredited fellowship, but is considered as an advanced training program in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The program will provide post-graduate obstetrician gynaecologists the opportunity to focus on comprehensive family planning training including advanced abortion care and contraception as well as training in research methodologies.

Family Planning trainees will be trained in both clinical and research aspects of advanced family planning and additionally participate in the generalist obstetrics and gynaecology work.

Research options span the spectrum from basic to translational to clinical research and affiliations exist with multiple local research institutes and teams.

Master options include a Master of Health Science (MHSc), a Master of Public Health (MPH) through the School of Population and Public Health.
